Rebsorte : Chardonnay
Boden : Clay and limestone covered with stones
Lage : A very small single vineyard shared between Chanson and the Hospices de Beaune on a hump of the hill of Corton. The vineyard used to belong to the Count of Vergennes, who was counselor to Louis XVI and signatory for the Treaty of Independence with the United States of America.
Der Jahrgang 2001 : Harvest took place at the end of September after a late Summer. It was as a whole homogeneous but the "tri", sorting of the grapes was drastic to keep only the very ripe berries. Aging in cask during 10 months
Verkostung : Bright gold colour. Floral fragrances mixed with pale fleshed fruit (peach) and almond underlined by a vanilla note. Powerful, well-balanced, generous. Beautiful aromatic combination of summer fruit (apricot) and honey enhanced by a refined oak note. Slightly mineral on the finish. Outstanding persistence.
Servierempfehlung : “Foie gras”, fish in a creamy sauce, crayfish. Particularly great with a selection of French cheeses.
