Santenay 2001

Rebsorte : Pinot Noir

Boden : Limestone mixed with clay

Lage : The area of production is located in the commune of Santenay in the South of the Côte de Beaune.

Der Jahrgang 2001 : Harvest took place at the end of September after a late Summer. It was as a whole homogeneous but the "tri", sorting of the grapes was drastic to keep only the very ripe berries. Aging in cask during 15 months

Verkostung : Fairly deep ruby with vermilion tinges. Red berries (strawberry, raspberry) mingled with violet and subtle hint of vanilla. Elegant, appealing, generous, complex with a good tannic structure. Fleshy, well-balanced, harmonious, lingering aftertaste.

Servierempfehlung : To be enjoyed with roast meat or meat en sauce, games and most cheeses (especially Citeaux, Epoisses, Langres.)
