Grape Variety : Pinot Noir
Soil : Sand with clay
Site : On the southern hill of Beaune, a vineyard of 2 hectares, mid slope facing East. The sandy combination of the soil gives to the wine a delicate texture and a soft tannic structure.
The Vintage 2009 : After a cold winter and a beautiful spring, the hot summer was interrupted by stormy intervals which fortuitously took place when needed and thus facilitated growth and good maturation of the grapes. Harvest began early September with excellent weather conditions. Aging in oak during 16 months.
Tasting : Bright ruby colour. Intense aromas of ripe red berries mixed with liquorice and chocolate. Subtle vanilla note. Well-balanced and complex on a beautiful texture. Very pure fruit. Well-integrated oak note. Racy and true to its terroir. Elegant tannins. Persistent aftertaste. Bettane & Desseauve - Guide des Vins de France 2012 : Score 17.5/20 Burghound - April 2010 : Score 88-91
Food pairing : It is perfectly matched with red meat grilled or en sauce and all cheeses, especially the local cheeses like Epoisses or Citeaux.
