Grape Variety : Chardonnay
Soil : Limestone
Site : Les Preuses is the Grand Cru of Chablis at the Northern end of the Grand Cru area. It is one of the smallest Grand Cru Climat and covers 11.4 ha. The vines selected by Chanson are ideally located right in the heart of the plot. This brings to the wine the specific minerality of this terroir.
The Vintage 2013 : After a long winter and a gloomy spring, the summer was warm and sunny but with intervals of violent hail storms. The harvest took place in the last days of September under a bright sunshine. The difficult weather conditions at the beginning of the year and the hail storms have considerably impacted the yields in most of the wine regions but quality is there. The white wines are tense with citrus fruit aromas and a well-shaped acidity. Aging in oak during 9 months (demi-muids casks).
Tasting : Gold colour. Floral fragrances mixed with citrus fruit aromas and green hazelnut. Delicate vanilla note. Expressive minerality. Well balanced and generous. Beautiful texture. Deep and elegant. Linear minerality and well-integrated acidity. Pure and straightforward aftertaste.
Food pairing : Foie gras, shellfish, fish, white meat as well as some goat cheeses.
