Grape Variety : Chardonnay
Soil : Kimmeridgien
Site : The Climat "Valmur" is located in the heart of the Grand Cru area. The plot covers 13.20 ha. The vines selected by Chanson are ideally located right in the heart of the plot and convey the specific minerality of this terroir.
The Vintage 2013 : After a long winter and a gloomy spring, the summer was warm and sunny but with intervals of violent hail storms. The harvest took place in the last days of September under a bright sunshine. The difficult weather conditions at the beginning of the year and the hail storms have considerably impacted the yields in most of the wine regions but quality is there. The white wines are tense with citrus fruit aromas and a well-shaped acidity. Aging in oak during 9 months (demi-muids casks).
Tasting : Pale gold colour. Floral fragrances mixed with aromas of citrus fruit on a hint of minerality. Excellent volume. Precise and taut. Well-integrated minerality on a well-crafted acidity. Refreshing aftertaste with a zesty finish.
Food pairing : Foie gras, shellfish, fish, white meat as well as some goat cheeses.
