Chassagne-Montrachet Chardonnay 2009

Grape Variety : Chardonnay

Soil : Clay and limestone

Site : Three plots of vineyards from selected "vignerons", ideally located in the heart of the village of Chassagne Montrachet - close to the Premiers Crus area. South, South-East orientation.

The Vintage 2009 : After a cold winter and a beautiful spring, the hot summer was interrupted by stormy intervals which fortuitously took place when needed and thus facilitated growth and good maturation of the grapes. Harvest began early September with excellent weather conditions. Aging in oak during 14 months.

Tasting : Pale gold colour. Delicate floral fragrances mixed with mango and almond. Delicate vanilla note on a hint of minerality. Generous and complex. Very pure fruit. Delicate oak note. Good persistence.

Food pairing : To be enjoyed with foie gras, grilled fish, white meat and strong cheeses (Epoisses, Roquefort and Munster).
