Grape Variety : Pinot Noir
Soil : Clay and limestone
Site : The vineyard is ideally located in the heart of the famous Clos de Vougeot, nearby the Chateau.
The Vintage 2003 : Exceptional due to a warm summer which incited an early harvest before the end of august. Low yields. Outstanding concentration and fully matured during the harvest. Aging in cask during 12 months
Tasting : Bright ruby colour. Intense aromas of cooked red fruit (cherry) coated with chocolate, of leather mixed with beautiful spicy nuances. Outstanding vanilla note. Ample, generous, well-structured and powerful with an outstanding aromatic combination. Tannins are present but with no sharp bones. Outstanding persistence.
Food pairing : It is perfectly matched with red meat grilled or en sauce and all cheeses, especially the local cheeses like Epoisses or Citeaux.
