Grape Variety : Chardonnay
Soil : Marly limestone with clay
Site : In the northern part of village of Chassagne Montrachet. It is one of the most famous Grands Crus Chardonnay in Burgundy. It is located on a mid slope facing east, aside the famous Batard Montrachet.
The Vintage 2005 : Harvest took place in the early days of September after a dry and very hot summer after a superb growing season - long and cold winter followed by a rainy and humid spring. Exceptional weather conditions for an exceptional vintage. Full maturation of the grapes and good concentration. Aging in oak casks during 12 months.
Tasting : Bright gold colour. Intense floral fragrances (acacia) mixed with aromas of mango, honey and vanilla. Beautiful mineral note. Elegant, powerful generous. Beautiful aromas. A lot of substance underlined by a well-shaped minerality. Outstanding persistence.
Food pairing : Seafood, “foie gras”, fish in a creamy sauce, crayfish. Particularly great with a selection of French cheeses.
