Grape Variety : Pinot Noir
Soil : Mix of Clay and limestone
Site : Gevrey Chambertin is located in the "Côte de Nuits". The grapes stem from a selected plot in the northern part of Appellation "Gevrey Chambertin" located on a mid slope and bordering the Premiers Crus. The grapes are sourced from a partner winegrower. Picking of the grapes by our teams.
The Vintage 2000 : After a quick bud burst, followed by an early flowering period (beginning of June), some rain and cool temperatures in July slowed down the ripening of the grapes. Good weather at the end of the summer and a prolonged hot period in early September, which ensured good concentration of the juice. Aging in cask during 12 months.
Tasting : Dark ruby colour. Intense aromas of red berries mixed with spicy nuances and enhanced by a beautiful vanilla note. Well-balanced and well-structured. Beautiful aromatic combination enhanced by an elegant oak note and tannins with no sharp edge. Good persistence.
Food pairing : Game (pheasant), poultry and all the classic cheeses (Epoisses, Langres).
