Grape Variety : Pinot Noir
Soil : Mix of limestone and clay
Site : Givry is one of the most famous village in the heart of Côte chalonnaise in the Southern part of Burgundy
The Vintage 2005 : Exceptional after a superb growing season - cold winter, rainy spring followed by hot and dry summer. Grapes picked at optimum ripeness and in perfect health, hence a minimum sorting was required.
Tasting : Ruby red with purple tinges. Aromas of jammed red berries (blackberry, raspberry) mixed with liquorice and a delicate oak note. Well-balanced, generous and silky. Beautiful aromatic combination enhanced by a well-integrated tannic structure.
Food pairing : Cooked pork meats, pâté, pie, grilled or roasted meat, fowls and "fromages à pâte pressée".
