Grape Variety : Pinot Noir
Soil : Mix of clay and limestone
Site : In the heart of the Côte Chalonnaise, South of Côte de Beaune, the vineyards of Mercurey are mainly planted with Pinot Noir. Located mid slope, facing South-East.
The Vintage 2005 : Harvest took place in the early days of September after a dry and very hot summer after a superb growing season - long and cold winter followed by a rainy and humid spring. Exceptional weather conditions for an exceptional vintage. Full maturation of the grapes and good concentration
Tasting : Ruby with purple tinges on the rim. Intense aromas of cooked red berries (cherry, raspberry) mixed with an array of spices. Full-bodied, generous and well-balanced with well-shaped tannins. Good persistence.
Food pairing : Enjoy with red or white meat, and a wide variety of French cheeses.
