Grape Variety : Pinot Noir
Soil : Mix of clay and limestone
Site : In the heart of the Côte Chalonnaise, South of Côte de Beaune, the vineyards of Mercurey are mainly planted with Pinot Noir. Located mid slope, facing South-East.
The Vintage 2015 : After a cold winter and a mild spring, the weather conditions in Summer were ideal with cold nights and warm days and enabled a perfect maturation of the grapes. The harvest took place mid September under a bright sunshine. The red wines develop beautiful aromas of ripe red and black berries with a fleshy texture. Aging in oak casks during 13 months.
Tasting : Bright ruby color. Delicate fragrances of peony mixed with aromas of ripe strawberries and black cherries on a hint of spices. Concentrated, generous and complex. Dense texture with well-integrated tannins. Persistent aftertaste.
Food pairing : Enjoy with red or white meat, and a wide variety of French cheeses.
