Grape Variety : Chardonnay
Soil : Mix of limestone and clay.
Site : Four different plots of vineyards from selected "vignerons". Two are located on mid slope for finesse and minerality, the two others are situated around the village for more richness and depth.
The Vintage 2003 : Exceptional due to a warm summer which incited an early harvest before the end of august. Low yields. Outstanding concentration and fully matured during the harvest..
Tasting : Pale gold colour. Floral fragrances (hawthorn) mixed with fresh almond and citrus fruit enhanced by a hint of vanilla. Classy and appealing wine. Complex fruit combination underlined by a hint of spiciness. Generous, well-balanced, concentrated with a good persistence.
Food pairing : To be enjoyed with foie gras, grilled fish, white meat and strong cheeses (Epoisses, Roquefort and Munster).
