Grape Variety : Chardonnay
Soil : Mix of clay and limestone
Site : In the Côte Chalonnaise, South of Côte de Beaune, this Premier Cru "terroir" of Montagny displays the fruit and mineral qualities of Chardonnay.
The Vintage 2011 : After a very cold winter and a demanding spring, the hot summer was regularly interrupted by rainy intervals which early September gave way to a bright and warm weather, that speeded up the maturation of the grapes. Harvest began in the last days of September under a bright sunshine.
Tasting : Pale gold colour. Aromas of citrus fruit mixed with fresh honey and pale flesh fruit on a hint of minerality. Well-balanced and generous. Well structured. Good acidity. Well-integrated minerality. Long and refreshing aftertaste.
Food pairing : Suitable for most occasions. Food parings include pâté, lobsters and poultry, as well as many goat cheeses.
