Monthélie 2001

Monthélie 2001

Grape Variety : Pinot Noir

Soil : Clay and limestone

Site : This vineyard is located at the border of the Premier Cru vineyards of this little village, nested between between Volnay and Meursault

The Vintage 2001 : Harvest took place at the end of September after a late Summer. It was as a whole homogeneous but the "tri", sorting of the grapes was drastic to keep only the very ripe berries. Aged in oak cask for 18 months

Tasting : Bright ruby colour with purple nuances. Intense aromas of red fruit (raspberry) and blackcurrant mixed with vanilla and spicy nuances. It is concentrated and develops a beautiful combination of red fruit enhanced by a delicate oak note. It is well-balanced and generous with elegant tannins.

Food pairing : To be enjoyed with red meat grilled or en sauce and French cheeses (Epoisses, Citeaux or goat).
