Monthélie 2006

Monthélie 2006

Grape Variety : Pinot Noir

Soil : Clay and limestone

Site : This vineyard is located at the border of the Premier Cru vineyards of this little village, nested between between Volnay and Meursault

The Vintage 2006 : The weather at the start of summer was quite demanding. However, the sun appeared at the end of August and continued throughout September. The harvest commenced in mid-September in perfect conditions. Careful selection of grapes in the vineyard and winery have produced beautiful wines with very pure aromas. Aged in French oak for 11 months.

Tasting : Bright ruby colour. Intense aromas of red fruit (cherry) mixed spices and toasted bread notes. Delicate vanilla notes. Well-crafted and elegant. Beautiful fruit aromas. Elegant oak note and well-integrated tannins. Long aftertaste.

Food pairing : To be enjoyed with red meat grilled or en sauce and French cheeses (Epoisses, Citeaux or goat).
