Grape Variety : Pinot Noir
Soil : Clay and limestone
Site : This vineyard is located at the border of the Premier Cru vineyards of this little village, nested between between Volnay and Meursault
The Vintage 2009 : After a cold winter and a beautiful spring, the hot summer was interrupted by stormy intervals which fortuitously took place when needed and thus facilitated growth and good maturation of the grapes. Harvest began early September with excellent weather conditions. Aging in oak during 14 months.
Tasting : Bright ruby colour. Intense aromas of ripe red berries (raspberry and red current) mixed spices on a hint of chocolate. Well-crafted and generous. Beautiful structure. Finely grained texture. Beautiful aromatic combination. Subtle oak note and well-integrated tannins. Long and fruity aftertaste.
Food pairing : To be enjoyed with red meat grilled or en sauce and French cheeses (Epoisses, Citeaux or goat).
