Grape Variety : Pinot Noir
Soil : Clay and limestone
Site : The area of production of the Nuits Saint Georges Premiers Crus is split up into two areas : North and South of the Commune of Nuits Saint Georges. This Premier Cru les Porets Saint Georges is located South of Nuits Saint Georges in the very heart of the Premiers Crus, where the structure of the soil is light and produces wines which are at the same time supple and generous. The plot selected is particularly well-situated with an East exposure.
The Vintage 2009 : After a cold winter and a beautiful spring, the hot summer was interrupted by stormy intervals which fortuitously took place when needed and thus facilitated growth and good maturation of the grapes. Harvest began early September with excellent weather conditions. Aging in oak casks during 18 months.
Tasting : Dark ruby colour. Intense aromas of black plum, of red fruit jam, ripe dark berries mixed with spices and chocolate. Subtle vanilla note. Generous and dense. Voluminous on a tight texture. The tannins are firm and paired with an elegant oak note. Long aftertaste.
Food pairing : It is perfectly matched with red meat grilled or en sauce and all cheeses, especially the local cheeses like Epoisses or Citeaux.
