Soil : Chalk mixed with silt and clay
Site : On the slope of the village of Pommard, one of the most famous growth for Pinot Noir in the Côte de Beaune area.
The Vintage 2002 : The harvest took place at the end of September, several days after the official beginning of the harvest in order to obtain the best possible maturation of the berries. Excellent weather conditions prevailed in August and September and hence the good quality of the grapes. A severe pruning had been carried out in July 2002 to limit yields. Aging in oak casks during 18 months.
Tasting : Bright ruby colour. Intense aromas of red fruits (red berry, raspberry, cherry) and liquorice enhanced by a nice hint of vanilla. Well balanced, concentrated, generous, good persistence, elegant, breed, depth, good aromatic combination of red fruits with a subtle oak flavour.
Food pairing : To be enjoyed with red or white meat , grilled or marinated, games.
