Puligny-Montrachet Hameau de Blagny
1er Cru
2005

Grape Variety : Chardonnay

Soil : Clay and limestone

Site : Area of production in the village of Puligny Montrachet. "Hameau de Blagny" is a plot located north of the village on the upper part of the hill on the boundaries with the Meursault area of production.

The Vintage 2005 : Harvest took place in the early days of September after a dry and very hot summer after a superb growing season - long and cold winter followed by a rainy and humid spring. Exceptional weather conditions for an exceptional vintage. Full maturation of the grapes and good concentration. Aging in oak casks during 15 months.

Tasting : Bright gold colour. Delicate floral fragrances mixed with aromas of citrus fruit enhanced by a subdued minerality and a beautiful vanilla note. Elegant, well-balanced and generous. Beautiful aromatic combination on a well-defined minerality and a well-integrated oak note. Long aftertaste.

Food pairing : To be enjoyed with "foie gras", seafood, fish and goat's cheese.
